Donegal Tweed Socks, Cranberry

48.00

I hand-knit these socks in soft Donegal tweed with an intricate all-over bowknot pattern. They are comfortable, thick, warm, and at the same time breathable - keeping your feet toasty and well ventilated. Nothing feels cozier on damp chilly mornings, and in Ireland I can even wear them through the summer. Perfect with hiking boots, work/combat-style boots, and wellies.

This pair is a Size S/M.

Caring for your socks:
If you are new to handmade wool socks, be aware that these beauties are not meant to be washed after every wear! The Donegal tweed is resistant to smells; you should be able to get many wears out of them before you have to wash them. Think of them as sweaters for your feet and treat them as you would a sweater. Air them out now and again and they'll be grand.

When you do decide to wash the socks: Hand wash gently in lukewarm water, using soap or wool wash. Squeeze out excess moisture by hand or by pressing into a towel; do not twist. Lay flat to dry, using sock blockers if possible.
