Order Facing North

In collaboration with Jenny Lienhard of Apple Oak Fibre Works, I am delighted to introduce Facing North - a place-specific collection of simple patterns for chunky yarns.

Designed with Apple Oak Fibre Works Stockholm and compatible with a variety of chunky-weight (100m/ 100g) yarns, Facing North features four unique garment patterns to keep you cozy in the starkest of winter climates. Also included are four charming accessory projects, each calling for only a single skein of yarn. All designs are seamless, quick to knit, suitable for advanced beginners, and engaging enough to appeal to experienced knitters. Presented in a beautifully illustrated book, the collection includes schematics, charts, and detailed written instructions for each pattern, as well as narratives about the places and events that inspired the designs.

Orders for the paper books will be dispatched after the 4th of November, and these orders will likewise receive download codes for the digital patterns (in other words, the paper book includes access to the digital version).

In addition to the pattern collection, you can also pre-order yarn kits for the patterns from Apple Oak Fibre Works, at a discounted introductory price.

About the Yarn:

Apple Oak Fibre Works Stockholm is a chunky-weight, 100% wool yarn, with a meterage of 100m (110y) per 100g (3.5oz). A singles yarn, Stockholm is exceptionally soft and airy, resulting in garments and accessories which feel light on the body, drape beautifully, and regulate heat exceptionally well. For a singles yarn, it is also quite durable, and therefore suitable for knitting garments.

Naturally dyed by Jenny Lienhard in Co. Clare, Stockholm is available in a stunning rainbow of tonal colourways compatible with all designs featured in this collection. You can pre-order yarn kits for any of the patterns in Facing North at a discounted price from Apple Oak Fibre Works here

If you prefer to substitute with alternative yarns, information on yarn substitution will be made available closer to the patterns' release.
